Wilfred Gordon McDonald Partridge
Fox, M. & Vivas, J. (1984). Wilfred Gordon McDonald Partridge. Brooklyn, NY: Kane/Miller Book Publishers. The picture book Wilfred Gordon McDonald Partridge tells the story of a young boy who lives next door to a nursing home, where several of his good friends reside. He meets Miss Nancy, who has "lost" her memory, beginning a journey for Wilfred who asks many other residents what a memory is. The residents describe memories as attributes and so Wilfred finds these for Miss Nancy, leading her to retrieve her lost memories. This text is a useful resource for students if the message is put across correctly. That is, when remembering special people and events they are made present to us again- a reason for celebrating the Eucharist as making present the saving action of Jesus Christ (CEO Sydney, 2006). |

National Catholic Education Commission. (2011). This web resources established by Together At One Altar provides a detailed overview of the gestures and actions carried out by the assembly during the Mass. In this, the resource assists the students with identifying the symbols, words and the actions relevant in the Liturgy of the Eucharist. This allows students to better participate in and understand the Mass. Once the resource has been explored and explained thoroughly to the students, the teacher can use the images provided to create a set of flash cards. These cards could be used in a game where the students are to recognise the gestures and actions demonstrated. |
